| Saw this mentioned before and bookmarked it and then SMAZ (OKC)'s post last week reminded me again: his post. Was a slow and snowy day Sat. Was running errands and decided to do this. The musician store is right next to Harbor Freight. So I picked up the fogger and then went next door and got most the other parts. Hit Home Depot on the way home to get some of the 1/8" fittings. I basically just printed out 2 pics of other peoples setups and the parts list and went shopping. American DJ Fog Machine 1/8 union 1/8 4" tube 1/8 - 1/4 coupler 1/4 tee fitting 1/4 fitting 1/4 ball valve
Was pretty simple to put together. I think I had a tad more work than others who have done this as I think the design of the fogger changed a tad. The picture on the box was different than the machine. The circular grill area on the front is what changed. This part looks different in on the box. I think this part used to just come off by undoing the front 2 screws. My version its actually spot welded to the case. So I had to unbolt the whole unit and tear it all apart. The 1/8" pipe just fit through the center hole in the grill though and the adaptor fitting fit behind it so I was able to leave the grill in place. Worked fine in the end.
Tested it on a car that I already knew had no leaks so I had to create some to see it work. This pic is after I removed the hose. Since it had no leaks the air/smoke came right back out the fitting. I pulled a few hoses off the balance tube to see smoke come out there as well.
Kinda cool. Easy and cheap to make. Don't know how often I'll really need to use it but will be nice to have on hand. I have no more than $60 total into it.
